Fichtenberg (Germany), April 22th, 2015 – The Variant 3 KW coilover kit for the new BMW M4 Convertible (F83) allows a continuously variable lowering between the approved range of 15 to 40mm. While most coilover kits only allow you to lower the car, the stainless steel KW coilover kit offers the advantage to separately adjust the rebound and compression damping forces. With 16 clicks in rebound and twelve clicks in compression damping, the BMW M4 Convertible driver is able to perfectly adapt the BMW to his or her individual driving demand.

Summer is here, and there’s no better way to enjoy the sun than a drive in a fast convertible. We now have the stainless steel KW Variant 3 coilover kit available for the new BMW M4 Convertible. With its continuous adjustment range it is easy to select your perfect lowering between 15 and 40mm front and rear. „Drivers with KW coilover suspensions installed benefit from motorsport technology applied for the road,” describes KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. „Many BMW race cars like the BMW Z4 GT3 and BMW M235i Racing Cup cars used in the BMW Sports Trophy are equipped with KW suspension components.” Just like the KW motorsport suspension, the Variant 3 coilover kit for the BMW M4 Convertible has a separate rebound and compression damping adjustment.

Your KW V3 dampers come with a recommended setting right out of the box, but can also be adjusted according to the personal preferences. For example; to consider the handling due to changed wheel- / tire-dimensions, the rebound can be changed within 16 individual settings. “If the rebound valves are opened further, the comfort at low speeds is increased”, said Johannes Wacker of KW. For the compression damping, the purple click wheel is integrated in the stainless steel strut or rear axle damper housing. By changing the compression, a significant influence on the body roll movements can be made and the steering behavior can be further adapted without having to change the rebound damping. „Putting it simply, the Variant 3 coilovers allow you to adjust the handling of the BMW M4 Convertible to your individual driving demand. It does not matter if the convertible is primarily used on country roads for trips at the weekend or for long distances on the highway.” The KW damping technology in detail is shown in the following YouTube video:
